UNICEF Romania started a campaign to catch attention on the humiliation that vulnerable children but also Roma ones have to stand in every day life.
The campaign is trying to fight and prevent discrimination that these people are suffering when they are trying to reach basic human rights like scholarization or healthcare.
With this purpose, three short films were made to show real cases that were denounced to the National Conseil of Fighting Discrimination in Romania.
The films were presented for the first time at a film festival in Cluj, but they will also be aired as part of tv shows, public events, debates or as university studies regarding the issue.
The Romanian representative of UNICEF, Sandie Blanchet, said in an interview that “the three films are helping us to be aware of the fact that anyone can discriminate but also that anyone can be discriminated, and the children are the most affected by it.
It`s very important that the professionals that are working with kids to know the effects of discrimination and the way they can fight against it.”
The initiative is part of the pilot project “Social inclusion by offering integrate services at the level of the community – Comunitty service for children” and it is financed by Norway Grants and UNICEF resources.
